Monday
A short lie-in, then repacking and getting ready to leave at around 10am from reception.
Firstly brunch at the Aspara restaurant, here's the menu:
- Shrimp spring rolls
- Fried crab claw with butter
- Fried tiger prawn with garlic
- Grilled beef poached in coconut juice
- Steamed pink fish with soya sauce S
- autéed cauliflower with oyster Cantonese fried rice
- Water melon for desert
As you can see it is quite a few dishes to enjoy, but every item on the menu was worth tasting!
After breakfast/lunch we then made our way to the airport where we were catching a flight from Da Nang airport at 1230pm. Our tour guide dropped us at the airport at 1130, where we then checked in and caught our flight. There was a slight delay but we landed into Ho Chi Minh City at around 1430.
We went straight to our hotel the Ramana hotel and had the whole Afternoon free to ourselves, I went for a walk up the road on my own and I was amazed by the amount of buzzing scooters. It was really difficult to cross the road, but I learnt the best way was to follow in the footsteps one of the locals. I was told that there is over 3million scooters in ho chi minh and I think I saw most of them as I walked !!
We were picked up at 7pm for dinner we went on the Tau Ben Nqhe a unique floating restaurant on the Saigon river, Again the food was lovely nice and we went go down to the river where there was live music and the view was spectacular. I really enjoyed this meal as the boat was full and there was a great atmosphere - Vietnam dining at its best !
After the boat trip we then visited the beautiful Rex hotel, where we went to glamorous roof top bar which had been recommended to us as a good choice of venue for a relaxing drink! .
After enjoying the views we headed back to the hotel for the evening and finally to bed
